Coneflower
Science
Coneflowers are a medicinal plant which have become popular in recent years following discovery of new immuno-stimulant activities. The large number of caffeic acid derivatives contained in Coneflowers protect the skin from damages that can be caused by UV radiation.
Thanks to its two catechol functions, chicoric acid greaatly inhibits the degradation of the type III collagen present in the skin, as proven in in vitro clinical tests.
Origins
The Coneflowers we use are harvested in the Swiss mountains, at an altitude of 1000 meters. The upper part of the plant is harvested when it reaches ful flower while the root is collected every three years in autumn.
The consistent high quality of Coneflowers is guaranteed by selecting strains rich in active compounds and by cultivating them on appropriate soil at an optimal altitude.
